Terms & Conditions
1. Our Agreement
1. All reservations are made through www.turkeytourbox.com (referred to as TTB, us, or we), registered trademarks of and operated by Wise Compass Travel Agency.
2. By booking a product with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Booking Terms & Conditions (comprising the entire agreement between you and us), and your booking will be confirmed by us based on these terms. The services to be rendered are as specified in your booking confirmation/invoice.
3. A 'Client' (You) refers to all individuals listed on the booking form planning to travel with TTB.
4. A 'Product' denotes any service offered by TTB.
5. A contract between you and us is established once we have confirmed the booking in writing and issued a Confirmation.
6. The individual submitting the booking form (incorporating these terms and conditions), whether in hard copy or online, affirms that they have full authorization to do so on behalf of all individuals listed and confirms that all such individuals are fully informed of and comprehend these terms and conditions.
7. We retain the right to reject any booking at our discretion without further elaboration.
2. Information and Pricing Policy
1. Prior to confirming a booking, we retain the right to adjust brochure prices due to circumstances beyond our control, such as, but not limited to, changes related to governmental actions, increases in transportation costs (including scheduled airfares and fuel costs), alterations in any charges, taxes, or fees applicable for services (including landing taxes or airport embarkation/disembarkation fees), increases in admission fees, and fluctuations in exchange rates.
2. Bank transfers are accepted as the full payable amount as advertised. Credit card payments are only accepted in Turkish Lira (TRY). The total amount payable in Turkish Lira is calculated by multiplying the full published amount by the daily buying exchange rate on the sale date. The daily exchange rate can be accessed at www.tcmb.gov.tr. Your bank will apply its exchange rate when debiting your credit card for the Turkish Lira amount withdrawn by us. We are not liable for discrepancies in the final transaction amount due to foreign currency, fees, and exchange rates utilized by banking institutions.
3. Any reduced prices or discounts that become available after your deposit payment will not be applicable to you. If you opt to cancel your booking to avail of a lower price, standard cancellation terms will be enforced.
3. Reservation Fee & Final Settlement
1. Group Tours, FIT (Independent), & Private Tours: To secure a spot on a group tour, a deposit of USD 200 is mandatory upon booking. For FIT & Private tours, an additional deposit may be requested by a specific hotel, tour operator, cruise line, airline, or other primary entity. The final payment is expected 60 days before the departure date. If the booking is made within 42 days of departure, the full amount is due at the time of booking.

2. Gulet Cruises: Clients must submit a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking cost upon booking. Full payment is required 60 days before departure. 3. Accommodation, Day Tours, & Products valued under 500 USD: Full payment is required at the time of booking.
4. Child Discount Rates
1. The minimum age requirement for escorted group tours is 8 years old. The only exception to this rule applies to cabin charter gulet cruises – please refer to clauses 12e & 12f below.
2. Children between 8 and 12 years old who are accompanying two adults on an escorted group tour in Turkey will benefit from a 25% discount off the standard rate. This child discount cannot be combined with any other discounts. Upon booking, the highest applicable discount will be applied.
3. Children of all ages are invited to join Day Tours and independent travel programs or book private gulet charters. Kids aged 0-7 joining a day tour will not be charged. Children aged 8-12 on a day tour will receive a 50% discount off the standard rate.
4. Individuals under 18 years old can only book our tours if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
5. Airport transfers
1. If airport transfers are part of the tour package, they will be provided at the commencement of services for inbound transfers and on the final day of the tour for outbound transfers, following the tour itinerary. If you reserve pre-tour accommodation through us, the check-in date will be considered the beginning of your services with us.
2. Istanbul airport transfers included in the tour package are accessible for all flights departing from either Istanbul or Sabiha Gokcen airports.
3. Complete flight information, including arrival time and flight number, must be submitted at least 48 hours before arrival. Failure to provide accurate and complete details may result in the forfeiture of transfer services.
4. Airport transfers are exclusively offered to and from the designated tour hotels specified by TTB.
6. Luggage
Additionally, to any personal items like a purse or laptop, you are permitted to bring one main piece of luggage along with a cabin bag or day pack. It is important to be aware that some domestic airlines in Turkey enforce a 15kg luggage limit. If your tour itinerary involves a domestic flight and your luggage exceeds 15kg, you will be accountable for any additional baggage charges.
7. Free Time
Certain intervals throughout the tour may be allocated as "free time". These intervals are primarily intended to offer clients an opportunity to unwind, rejuvenate, and/or explore. Clients are at liberty to utilize this free time as they see fit. We do not assume liability for any loss, mishap, or injury that may occur during such 'free time'.
8. Inclusions and Exclusions of the Tour
Your tour price covers all accommodations, transportation, and sightseeing activities specified in the inclusions section of your itinerary. Any items not mentioned in the inclusions section are not included in your tour price. This encompasses, but is not restricted to: air travel unless explicitly stated in the tour inclusions; airport taxes for arrivals/departures, visas, personal insurance, personal expenses such as additional beverages during meals, food or snacks outside of scheduled meals, laundry services, telephone, fax, or Internet/email charges, photography or videography fees at specific sites, currency exchange fees, medical costs, excess baggage charges, customs duties, shopping expenses, and gratuities. Simply put, if it's not detailed in the inclusions section of the itinerary, it is not covered.
9. Guaranteed Departure Products
Products labeled as Guaranteed Departure are assured to depart on the specified dates in the brochure, barring circumstances beyond the control of Wise Compass Travel Agency due to Force Majeure or insufficient passenger numbers.
10. Minimum Number Products
Minimum Number Products encompass all Products not categorized as Guaranteed Departure on our website. If a minimum number product fails to secure adequate bookings for a particular departure date, we will notify you or your Agent. You will then have the choice to switch to an alternative date or Product of similar value, upgrade to another tour, or receive a full refund of all payments made. We will make every effort to find a suitable alternative in such instances.
11. Maximum Group Size Products
Maximum capacity products consist of all tours featuring Gulet cruises. These tours are capped at a maximum of 40 passengers. The maximum number of gulets permitted is contingent upon the availability of cabin space. Once this limit is reached, bookings will be ceased, and no further reservations will be accommodated. We reserve the right to modify this limit without prior notification in the event of exceptional circumstances. It's important to note that the maximum group size regulation does not pertain to ANZAC Day products.
12. Gulet Cruises
1. Prior to confirming any booking, availability must be verified in writing with TTB.
2. Clients are not permitted to alter the departure date of a gulet cruise within 2 months of the scheduled departure.
3. Single travelers are required to pay a single supplement as the option to twin share with another traveler is unavailable. Additionally, cabins with two single beds are not offered on most gulets, which typically feature double beds.
4. Changes to the departure date of a gulet cruise cannot be made within 2 weeks of the departure date.
5. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed on cabin charter gulet cruises.
6. Young travelers aged between 12 and 17 who are participating in a cabin charter gulet cruise must share a cabin with a supervising adult.
13. Amendments & Cancellations by You
1. Cancellation Policy:
You have the option to cancel your booking at any time, but cancellation fees will be applicable as outlined below. Your cancellation will be deemed effective upon our receipt of a written request from you or your Agent. The following cancellation charges will be enforced based on the number of days before the departure date:
- Group Tours / FIT & Private Tours:
- 1 month or more prior to departure: full payment minus any amounts already paid for flights, accommodations, etc.
- 1 month to 1 week before departure: 50% of the total cost
- Less than 1 week before departure: No refund
- Day Tours / Transfers / Accommodation / Gulet Cruises:
- 1 month or more prior to departure: full payment minus any amounts already paid for flights, accommodations, etc.
- 1 month to 1 week before departure: 50% of the total cost
- Less than 1 week before departure: No refund
2. Amendment Policy:
Once your booking is confirmed, any proposed amendments must be submitted in writing by the Lead Client. An administration fee of EUR 50.00 will be charged for each change, except for the first change which incurs no fee or as otherwise agreed. Please note that requested changes cannot be guaranteed.
3. Transfer of Booking:
In the event that a member of your party is unable to travel due to circumstances such as death, injury, serious illness, redundancy, or jury service affecting the client, a close relative, or friend, it may be feasible to transfer the booking to another suitable individual or alter the departure date or tour to a similar standard and cost. This transfer must be confirmed in writing and approved by TTB.
4. Refund Process:
If a refund is due to you as a result of an amendment or cancellation, the refund amount will be determined in accordance with the specified conditions and taking into account any evidence of exceptional circumstances. The client will be responsible for any bank fees incurred during the processing or transfer of the refunded amount.
5. No refund will be provided for partially used Products.
6. Bookings that received a discount through a special offer or promotion are not eligible for a refund.
14. Cancellation By TTB
1. Each TTB Product has a specified minimum number of participants, as indicated in the 'Notes' section of the website itinerary, unless it is a custom-designed itinerary.
2. While we retain the right to cancel any confirmed booking under various circumstances, we will not cancel a Guaranteed Departure Product except in rare cases of force majeure. Force majeure events include war, threat of war, civil unrest, labor disputes, terrorist activities, natural disasters, nuclear incidents, fires, extreme weather conditions, flight disruptions, or any other external factors beyond our control. No compensation will be provided if we must cancel or modify a tour due to force majeure. However, if we are unable to deliver the scheduled tour, we will refund any payments made or present an alternative date or holiday of similar quality.
15. Change of Hotels and Itinerary
1. We provide all product details in good faith and make every effort to conduct all Products as advertised. Nevertheless, we retain the right to modify the tour itinerary at our discretion.
2. In the event of a significant itinerary alteration prior to departure, we will strive to notify you promptly if time allows. A major change is defined as one that impacts at least one day out of five on the itinerary. Upon a major alteration, you have the option to accept the change, receive a refund for the land portion of your trip, or opt for an alternative tour of equal or lesser value.
3. We hold the right to adjust an itinerary post-departure due to local conditions or unforeseen events beyond our control. In such urgent situations, any additional expenses incurred from necessary itinerary adjustments will be your responsibility. We do not cover any ancillary costs resulting from itinerary changes, such as visas, vaccinations, or non-refundable flights.
4. While the hotels listed on our website are intended for all departures, occasional changes may occur to meet operational needs and local circumstances. We reserve the right to substitute hotels without prior notice. If a substitution is necessary for reasons like accommodating additional departures on the same date or altering hotel locations within or outside itinerary cities, the replacement hotel will be of equal or superior quality, when possible, to those originally listed. No refunds are issued for hotel substitutions, and standard cancellation penalties apply as indicated above.
16. Accommodations
1. Accommodations for organized tours are typically arranged based on twin/double/triple sharing.
2. Single travelers have the option to share a twin room with another traveler of the same gender, if feasible. If a same-gender room share is unavailable, the single room supplement will be required. Room sharing arrangements are made in the order of bookings.
3. For pre and post-tour accommodations, the entire room will be reserved for your use. Shared pre and post-tour accommodations for single travelers cannot be arranged, necessitating the payment of a single supplement.
4. While we strive to accommodate individuals traveling together in their preferred room type, we cannot guarantee this arrangement.
5. Requests for specific bed types, smoking preferences, and connecting rooms are subject to availability.
6. When booking a triple room, please be aware that in certain hotels, the third bed may be a fold-away bed. Availability of triple rooms is limited, and we are not responsible if a hotel can only provide a fold-away bed. No compensation will be provided in such cases.
7. Single rooms may be smaller in size compared to twin or double rooms.
8. The hotels advertised serve as a representation of the expected accommodation type. Actual hotels utilized for a particular tour may vary due to factors like group size, availability, seasonal variations, changes in hotel standards, or the discovery of superior accommodations. Any alterations are promptly updated on the website. If a hotel change occurs, it will be to an equivalent or superior standard at no additional cost.
17. Travel Documentation
1. Ensuring you possess a valid passport, visa permits, required vaccinations, preventive medications, medical certificates, and all essential travel documents is your own responsibility.
2. We do not accept liability for any damages resulting from changes in regulations or laws pertaining to necessary travel document requirements. While we provide information on these matters in good faith, we do so without assuming any liability.
3. We cannot be held accountable if you are denied entry to a country due to inadequate passport, visa, or other documentation.
4. In the event of lost or stolen documents, we are willing to offer assistance to the best of our ability. However, we cannot be held responsible for any additional expenses incurred, and you are not entitled to reimbursement or compensation for any travel expenses paid.
18. Travel Insurance
According to Turkish Law, it is compulsory for all Clients to have adequate insurance that covers, at a minimum, personal accidents, death, medical and repatriation expenses, loss of luggage, and cancellation or interruption of a Product. This insurance should encompass all planned adventure activities from the time of booking throughout the entire duration of the Product. The Client and their personal belongings are the sole responsibility of the Client. TTB bears no liability on behalf of the Client as long as TTB has delivered a Product of reasonable quality. It is your sole responsibility to arrange your own insurance. Proof of your travel insurance will be requested on the first day of your tour, and participation in the tour will not be permitted without it.
19. Health, Safety and Conduct
1. Before making a reservation, all Clients must ensure that they are physically capable of completing the itinerary outlined in the tour brochure. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, it is essential to disclose these conditions truthfully at the time of booking and arrange for any necessary medication or treatment during the tour. Clients with medical conditions must provide a medical statement from a General Practitioner confirming their fitness to travel.
Failure to disclose such information will be considered a violation of the booking terms, releasing TTB from any obligations and liabilities.
2. While we are happy to accommodate special meal requests, we cannot guarantee their availability at hotels or restaurants during the tour.
3. It is your responsibility to obtain any required vaccinations for your planned destinations. Inform TTB of any allergies or physical conditions that may impact you during the tour. We retain the right to accept or reject any individual as a tour member or to remove or retain any individual if their physical condition, mental health, or behavior disrupts the tour's operation. No refunds will be provided in such instances.
20. Client Exclusion and Local Law
By participating in the tour, you agree to abide by the decisions and authority of TTB's staff, as well as the employees and representatives of its suppliers. If, in their judgment, your health or behavior before or during the tour poses a potential risk to the safe, comfortable, or enjoyable progression of the tour, you may be excluded from all or part of the tour without prior notice or any liability on the part of TTB. In the event of a client’s illness, we may take necessary actions and seek reimbursement of associated costs from the Client. Passengers are expected to adhere to the laws and regulations of the countries they visit. TTB will not be held responsible for any Clients engaging in illegal or unlawful activities during the tour.
21. Liability of TTB
1. TTB Products, especially adventure activities, involve risks to the personal safety of the Client that may not be present in other package holidays. By agreeing to these Booking Conditions, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with your chosen travel and voluntarily assume these risks. We are not liable for any damages incurred by the Client if we have fulfilled our Duty of Care by providing Products of a reasonable standard. Our liability is not applicable if TTB or its suppliers are not at fault, and the claimed damages result from the Client's actions or unforeseeable circumstances beyond TTB's control, such as force majeure, where the consequences could not have been prevented even with utmost care.
2. Regarding air, sea, and rail transportation and accommodation provision, our liability is limited as per the relevant international conventions.
3. We are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur due to delays, accidents, or disruptions beyond our control, whether due to force majeure or other reasons.
4. Optional activities not included in the tour price are not part of the tour or the contract. While your tour guide may assist in arranging optional activities, this does not imply liability on our part. The agreement for such activities will be between you and the optional activity provider.
5. If you occupy a seat in a vehicle equipped with a seat belt, neither TTB nor our agents or service providers will be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damages resulting from an accident or incident if the seat belt was not worn at the time of the occurrence.
22. Combination Trips
Many of our tours are structured to align with other departures, creating an extended journey. Consequently, some members of your group may have already been traveling together before you joined the tour. If you wish to inquire whether your trip is part of a combined tour, please do so before finalizing your booking.
23. Tour Meeting Point
If you decide not to utilize the provided inbound airport transfer or select a product that does not offer this service, you will be accountable for arranging your own transportation to and from the designated Tour Meeting Point, which is specified in the respective brochures.
24. Photography and Marketing
1. Our designated representatives have the authority to capture photographs and videos of you during your use of any TTB services. We retain the privilege to utilize such content for advertising or promotional purposes across any chosen platform without requiring additional consent. By participating, you provide us with an enduring, royalty-free, global, and irreversible license to utilize these visuals for publicity and promotional endeavors. 2. Additionally, we hold the right to incorporate any feedback, surveys, or commendatory correspondence regarding us or our products into promotional materials, excluding any personal identifiers, without the need for additional consent.
25. Complaints
If you encounter any issues with the arrangements of the Product, it is essential to promptly bring your complaint to the attention of a TTB staff member. This allows us the opportunity to make every effort to address and resolve the matter. Without knowledge of the issue, we are unable to rectify it. Failure to report the concern immediately may diminish or eliminate our liability to provide compensation. If the matter cannot be resolved immediately, a written complaint must be submitted within 90 days following the conclusion of the product.
26. Updates the terms and conditions
TTB retains the authority to modify and/or revise these terms and conditions as necessary, and it is the Clients' duty to stay informed about them. The most recent terms and conditions are accessible on the TTB website: www.turkeytourbox.com and will take precedence over any prior editions.
27. General
1. None of TTB's staff or agents are authorized to modify, amend, or waive any of these terms and conditions, or to assume any liability on behalf of TTB, unless such changes are documented in writing and endorsed by TTB's Managing Director.
2. All agreements for reservations made with TTB are regulated by Turkish legislation and fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Turkish courts in the event of any disagreements between the parties involved in this agreement.
